Track outstanding and aging

The Outstanding (Accounts Receivable) report shows everything customers owe you, grouped into aging buckets, so you can see at a glance what is current and what is going overdue — and act on it straight from the report.

Before you start

  • Keep invoices, payments, allocations, and credit notes up to date — the aging report is only as accurate as the records behind it.

Read the aging report

  1. Go to Sales > Outstanding (AR).
  2. Review receivables grouped into aging buckets — for example, current, 1–30 days, 31–60 days, and beyond.
  3. Check the summary total for the overall picture of what you are owed.

Act on what you see

  1. From the report, drill down into a customer's outstanding balance.
  2. Go straight from the drill-down into recording a payment. See Record customer payments.

Sales Outstanding: what customers owe, how much is overdue and by how many days.

Tips

  • Work the oldest buckets first — invoices past 30 or 60 days get harder to collect the longer they sit.
  • Use the drill-down path into payment recording as your daily collections routine: review the report, pick the customers to chase, record what comes in.
  • Combine the aging report with each customer's credit position (credit limit, exposure, available credit) on their Customer 360 record when deciding whether to keep selling on credit. See Manage customers.
  • The purchasing side has the mirror-image report for what you owe suppliers. See View accounts payable outstanding.
