Create discount schemes

Discount schemes let you run flexible promotions in Growmax ARC — percentage or fixed-amount discounts, scoped globally or to specific products or customers, with validity windows, caps, usage limits, and priority ordering to control what applies when several schemes could.

Before you start

  • Know which products or customers the scheme should cover, and whether a percentage or a fixed amount works better for your margins.

Create a discount scheme

  1. Go to Discounts.
  2. Create a new discount scheme.
  3. Choose the discount type: percentage or fixed amount.
  4. Set the scope: global, per product, or per customer.
  5. Set the validity window — the start and end dates the scheme runs for.
  6. Optionally set a maximum discount cap to limit the total discount the scheme can give.
  7. Optionally use usage counters to track (and limit) how many times the scheme is used.
  8. Set the scheme's priority to control which scheme wins when several could apply.
  9. Save the scheme.

Manage existing schemes

  1. Go to Discounts.
  2. Open a scheme to review or adjust its settings, including its usage counter and validity window.
  3. Save your changes.

A new discount scheme: its percentage, scope and validity window. Active schemes apply automatically to quotes, orders and invoices.

Tips

  • Use the maximum discount cap on aggressive percentage schemes — it keeps a large order from producing a larger discount than you intended.
  • When schemes overlap, priority ordering decides the winner — set priorities deliberately rather than leaving them to chance.
  • For ongoing volume discounts built into your catalog, use quantity-tier pricing on packs instead of a discount scheme. See Set prices and quantity tiers.
