Products and variants

Your product catalog is the foundation of selling and buying in Growmax ARC. Browse the full catalog in the product list, and use the full product editor to define variants, units of measure, packs, tax settings, and images for each product.

Before you start

  • If you have an existing catalog in a spreadsheet, you can bring it in with the bulk import wizard instead of creating products one by one. See Import products in bulk.

Browse the catalog

  1. Go to Products.
  2. Browse your full product catalog in the list.
  3. Update a price directly in the list using inline price editing — no need to open each product.

Create a product

  1. Go to Products.
  2. Create a new product to open the full product editor.
  3. Enter the product's basic details.
  4. Choose the product's base unit of measure — it is required for every new product and keeps purchasing, selling, and stock levels aligned (see Units of measure and packs).
  5. Add variants — each product can have multiple variants, and every variant has its own SKU, barcode, cost, list price, and sale price. Leave the SKU blank and ARC auto-generates one for the variant.
  6. Define the product's purchase and sales units and packs.
  7. Attach images per variant.
  8. Save the product.

Clone a product

For a new product that closely matches an existing one, clone instead of starting from scratch:

  1. Go to Products and open the product you want to copy.
  2. Choose Clone to open the clone dialog.
  3. Adjust whatever should differ — name, SKUs, pricing — and save.

The clone carries over the product's setup (variants, units, tax settings), so you only edit what changes.

Set tax settings on a product

  1. Open the product in the full product editor.
  2. To exempt the product from tax, mark it tax-exempt and select a reason and a tax group.
  3. Save the product.

A product page: details, variants with their SKUs and prices, and stock.

Tips

  • Use variants for anything that shares one product identity but differs in what you stock or sell — each variant tracks its own SKU, barcode, and pricing.
  • Clone a product when the new item differs only slightly — it is faster than re-entering variants, units, and tax settings.
  • Attach images to each variant so the right picture shows for the right option on your buyer-facing storefronts.
  • Generate product descriptions from product images with one click using Enrich with AI. See Enrich product content with AI.
