Configure warehouses and inventory settings
Manage your warehouses and control how inventory behaves: the costing method used for valuation, whether negative stock is allowed, low-stock thresholds, and automatic reordering.
Before you start
- You need administrator access to change Settings.
Manage warehouses
- Go to Settings and open the warehouses settings.
- Use Add warehouse to open the warehouse form; the same form opens when you edit an existing warehouse.
- Enter the warehouse details and save.
Configure inventory settings
- Go to Settings > Inventory settings.
- Configure:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Costing method | Choose FIFO, LIFO, or average cost for inventory valuation |
| Negative stock policy | Control whether stock is allowed to go negative |
| Low-stock thresholds | Set thresholds to flag items running low |
| Auto-reorder | Configure automatic reordering behavior |
- Save your changes.
Settings > Inventory Settings: default warehouse, costing and stock policies.
Tips
- Choose your costing method carefully — it drives inventory valuation across the platform.
- Set low-stock thresholds before you go live so items running low are flagged from day one.
- Stock is tracked per warehouse, so create all your warehouses before receiving goods. See View stock levels.
