Manage users, teams, and permissions

Set up your staff and teams, and control exactly what each person can do and see using the role and permission editor with granular permissions and data-visibility scoping.

Before you start

  • You need administrator access to manage users, teams, and roles.

Add users and organize teams

  1. Go to Settings > Users & Teams.
  2. Add your staff as users.
  3. Organize users into teams.

Configure roles and permissions

  1. In Settings > Users & Teams, open the role & permission editor.
  2. Set granular permissions per role — controlling what users with that role can do.
  3. Set data visibility scoping — whether users see their own records, their team's records, or all records.
  4. Save the role and assign it to users.

Settings > Roles & Permissions: each role and the permissions it grants.

Tips

  • Data visibility scoping is powerful for sales teams: reps can be limited to their own customers and orders, while managers see their whole team's records.
  • Permissions affect more than menus — analytics dashboards are role-scoped too. See Understand your dashboard.
