Units of measure and packs
Distributors buy and sell in different quantities — pieces, cases, pallets. Growmax ARC lets you manage units of measure with conversions between them, define base, purchase, and sales units per product, and create pack definitions (for example, a case of 12) with their own quantity-tier pricing.
Before you start
- Create the product first. See Products and variants.
Manage units of measure
- Go to the Units of Measure area of your catalog settings.
- Create the units you trade in (for example, piece, case, pallet).
- Define conversions between them — for example, 1 case = 12 pieces.
To bring in many units at once, use the bulk import for units of measure.
Set units of measure on a product
- Go to Products and open the product in the full product editor.
- Define the product's base, purchase, and sales units of measure — so you can buy in one unit and sell in another while stock stays consistent in the base unit. The base unit is required: every new product must name one before it can be saved.
- Save the product.
Define packs
- Go to Products and open the product in the full product editor.
- Define packs (for example, case of 12).
- Enter quantity-tier pricing per unit of measure on the pack — price breaks by volume. See Set prices and quantity tiers.
- Save the product.
On the Buyer Mobile App, your customers see unit-of-measure selection on product pages — they choose between, say, piece and case before adding to cart.
Find and analyze SKUs
- Use SKU search & analytics to find products and analyze SKU performance across your catalog.
Tips
- Always define conversions between units you use together — they keep purchasing, selling, and stock levels aligned.
- Pick the base unit carefully — it is mandatory and anchors stock tracking; purchase and sales units convert back to it.
- If your catalog uses many units, bulk import them in one go rather than creating them one at a time.
