Not all mobile ordering apps are built for B2B. Consumer-oriented platforms lack the complexity that wholesale and distribution require. Here's what to look for:
Customer-Specific Everything
Each customer should see their own prices, product catalog, and payment terms. A rep visiting Customer A should see different pricing than when visiting Customer B — automatically, without manual lookup.
Offline-First Architecture
"Works offline" isn't just about syncing later. A true offline-first app downloads the full product catalog, customer data, and pricing to the device so reps can take complete orders without any connectivity. Orders queue and sync automatically when back online.
ERP/Accounting Integration
Orders captured on mobile should flow directly into your QuickBooks, Zoho, Xero, SAP, or other backend system. If reps capture orders on the app but someone still has to re-enter them into the ERP, you've solved nothing.
Barcode/QR Scanning
In warehouse or stockroom environments, reps should be able to scan product barcodes to add items to orders instantly — no manual SKU entry, no typos.
Multi-Channel Sync
Orders from the mobile app, web portal, and EDI should all appear in the same system. A unified order management view ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
